The environmental services industry covers a broad range of activities focused on protecting and improving the environment in which we live. These activities include sewage services, sanitation services, soil mediation & clean-up, air pollution control, and noise abatement. In the United States, the environmental services industry is an approximately $400 billion industry. When it comes to gaining investment exposure to the industry, there is an ETF for that. That ETF is known as the VanEck Environmental Services ETF (EVX).

EVX is an ETF designed to measure the performance of widely held, highly capitalized companies engaged in business activities that may benefit from the global increase in demand for consumer waste disposal, removal, and storage of industrial by-products, and the management of associated resources. The top holdings of EVX include companies such as Waste Management, Waste Connections, Energy Recovery, Clean Harbors, and Evoqua Water Technologies.
